Iron & Fire Speciality Coffee Roaster were opening a new artisan roastery, coffee machine showroom and barista training centre in the heart of Shrewsbury and were looking to revitalise their brand and accompanying print and digital material in line with this new venture.
I worked closely with the team to develop a range of packaging labels which feature illustrated elements to reflect the tasting notes of each bean variety. Consideration was given to how these would be printed to ensure this remained economical for the company whilst suiting their hand crafted and artisan values.
A new website was created to act as a key point of information on their bespoke roasting processes, coffee selection guide and information for both retail and wholesale customers on what machines to buy to serve the best coffee. The site also features a full online shop selling their extensive range of hand roasted coffee beans, machines, grinders, accessories, brew kits and courses.
It was important to capture the brand’s passion for coffee and their unique offer including personalised service, ethical packaging and composting, and education courses for both experienced and new baristas, along with the fact that they are a family business, and so consideration was given to how key messaging is presented and the use of photography and illustration.
A number of printed items have also been created including advertorial designs for regional press, flyers and vouchers for use at trade shows and direct mail.
