It was fun turning the client/designer relationship on its head as I became my own client to design a printed invite for our wedding in August 2018. I could explore a style that indulges my love for vintage florals, using bespoke botanical illustrations sourced from vintage books from the early 1800s.
For the wedding invites, illustrations of peach camellia and peony paired with yellow evening primrose created a bright palette, which I paired with fun daffodil yellow envelopes. A heavy natural paper stock gave them a luxurious feel whilst the design remains contemporary and unfussy.
The design extended to personalised menus and other items to dress the venue on the day, sitting alongside lots of fresh flowers in vibrant pinks, yellows and oranges and some beautiful paper flowers I had made by a local designer maker.
